Yesterday night, the wife and I were frustrated over the way we should hang pictures on the wall. Quite frankly, we don't know what we are doing.

Would someone knowledgeable in this area gives us some good advice?

Thanks!

What kind of wall? Who are you hanging?

I've used baluster and lattice to form a ledge to support small frames. The baluster (1.25" sqr) can be cut to any length, but I typically will keep it at its full 8' length and screw it to the wall horizontally. I then apply to the face of the baluster the lattice (1.75") with glue and a few small brads. Then paint to match the wall, or whatever. Keep in mind you can run rows of these ledges to fill a wall it you wish. Set them at different distances from one another to account for large/small frames.

There can be a slight snag with some picture frames not having enough pitch to keep them in place. Some double stick tape on the back usually solves these problem children. Care also has to be given to trafficed hallways and young children. That's my 2 cents.
