So for the Assos skin repair gel which has hyaluronic acid as its main ingredient. but its also 35bucks a tube. could you say use the Neutrogena Hydro boost with the same man ingredient and say add Tea Tree oil if you so choose? because that's only 5 bucks a tube?
Random thoughts while at work sorry

There must be a million and one hand creams/moisturisers/skin repair creams out there for $10 or so, most of them produced by specialist companies. Cerave is a name that springs to mind. I used something called Cicaplast cream fro my hands, but I can't remember who makes it. Dunno why you'd even consider buying something with an Assos label on it.

Because I received two free samples with my new shorts and it worked good but really don't wanna pony up the 35bucks but it worked

I just get the Assos stuff, both the chamois cream and the skin repair gel. Only use the gel after longer days on the bike, so maybe has a bit more legs than if I used it after every 45 min spin on the trainer.

Don't cut corners on the gooch man.

Don't cut corners on the gooch man.

Does gooch = junk or is gooch located further back?

First time I've encountered that one. :)

Get some of this..medicated. Works great at healing and also as a chamois creme. If ya get some 'chamois rash'...shower, take some rubbing alcohol there(yowser!!) and some Dr Naylor..heals well.

I know my dermatologist pushes/recommend certain things but IIRC they are all just expensive skin care products that don't go through any medical testing so it's all right back to conjecture and snake oil just like all these products.

My dermatologists biggest recommendation for cycling for me is always to always cycle with long sleeves & tights. Not gonna happen.

I'm often more worried about these skin care products potentially causing cancer.. no one seems to know. I'd probably rather they test on animals and have a little bit more knowledge about whether they're causing harm to us... but it's also easy to just try and use minimal products period.

I mostly use Aquaphor healing ointment. Sold everywhere. It protects and seems to wash out of shorts OK.

++ definitely recommended by Dermatologists. Mine had me using it recently as I had a mole removed.

Most likely all the extra stuff in the Assos is not good for your skin at all, might as well save $30.

BB is good but dr naylor has oil of clove(smells better) and less lanolin(less greasy) but both good.

I can't imagine using anything on my butt after riding. Good way to have problems. I think the main thing that causes me butt problems when I'm riding a lot is not fully cleaning off the soap in the crotchital area. Especially since I'm not particularly svelte. Started using a hand-held shower head and making sure all the soap is gone.

Not strictly what the OP was asking about, but it will help prevent the need for what he was looking for.

After a good 15 years of using Assos chamois cream I have been using Doc's Skincare Natural Chamois Cream for the last six months and this stuff is great. Has a nice tea tree oil scent. As someone who has had to have Open Taint Surgery on saddle sores in the past I pay very close attention to what I use down under and the Doc's is fantastic. They also make a saddle sore ointment cream which I have but haven't had the need to use. https://www.amazon.com/Docs-Skin-Saddle-Ointment-Color/dp/B00BKR1VZU/ref=sr_1_10?ie=UTF8&qid=1549046958&sr=8-10&keywords=Doc%27s+Skincare

Big bag balm fan here as well...15 years ago I picked up a 4 and a half pound bucket of it here at a local feed store for 20 bucks...I think I haven't gone thru even an quarter of it...it never goes bad...hell, we use it on everything in Vermont...even cooking (just kidding...) but it works fine..

Assos fan here, former Bag Balm user but still experienced a sore from time to time, none yet using the Assos cream. Think it’s important to be clean before applying any cream, putting this stuff on a sweaty nether region is just asking for trouble.

Try this as it works great. Used to use BB but I think it degrades pads over time. Link for Okole is below:
