I see an updated website with a new lineup of frames. Does anyone know who is welding these?

Under the umbrella of Janus Cycle Group, Siegrist and his partners are building bikes for Dean and the iconic brand Merlin Metal Works, as well as operating the company's retail and distribution arm Velosport Imports.

Ti bike OEMs are always a weird chain to figure out.

Didn't Dean's lead welder leave to form Mosaic?

Yup. Aaron worked at Dean and then went on to form Mosaic.
Also, James Bleakey worked at Dean and then went on to form Black Sheep.

Ti bike OEMs are always a weird chain to figure out.

Do you think carbon bike OEMs are any easier to figure out? There's probably a much higher ratio of brands/manufacturer for carbon bikes than for Ti bikes.

Beyond the logo and font, these don't really recall the original Merlins at all. The brushed finish doesn't seem to be present. None of the beauty or elegance of the old brand is in this version.

The attempted revival by Competitive Cyclist a few years back was a nice attempt but this one doesn't do much for me.

Rather than revive a great brand, these builders should maybe create their own new one, like the folks at Firefly have done.
