Any positive experiences with SoCal painter who can do a custom fork? Looking to paint a fork to match a frame.

Any suggestions appreciated! (And I already know of Joe Bell)

These guys are supposed to be good. I know folks who've had their bikes and misc. items done there.

If I don't do it myself, it's probably where I'm taking a carbon frame to get re-done.

I would narrow your quest to a painter that uses the same kind of paint you are trying to match. That doesn't mean it isn't possible to use a different brand but that might increase your cost and complications. For example if your frame is an old one and was painted with Imron, it is probable someone like me with a few hundred cans in stock might still have the same paint. Easy.

If the painter has to try and have his jobber mix a different kind of paint to match, that can make buying the paint itself expensive. And then of course there is all the time necessary to do all this matching. If the company or builder can provide you the paint type and number that reduces the effort of solving the problem. And of course it isn't likely the guy mixing it gets the ratios perfectly correct.

Another option is to paint the fork a contrasting color or matching some accent instead of the main color.
