Yes, no issues on a handful of orders. Normal order status provided and ships via DHL tracked shipment. I believe they originate from Girona, Spain.

Yes, delivery is sloooow. You need to sign for the package. I wasn't home and didn't get notification that they tried to deliver it. Retrieved it eventually, more than a month after I ordered.

I just checked my last order that had tracking still available and it was 12 days from order to receipt. On your order status they also sometimes include an actual picture of your package/label.

I've ordered from them a couple times with good experience. I can't remember the shipping times because typically when I order overseas, I'm not expecting fast shipping.

One of the orders had an issue that their customer service resolved quickly so there's that.

My one "order" from them was for an in-stock item which was later discovered to be out of stock. I didn't get notified until about a week after I ordered. I requested a refund, which was promptly provided.

I ordered from them about a year ago...yes they are slow! I think they took a week before they shipped my order...leads me to think they gather up orders, takes my money and go buy a bunch of stuff once a week and ships off the orders.

I should've searched for this thread before ordering, I guess. Consensus is pretty unanimous.

I placed an order 4/27 that shipped 4/28. 5/14 and I still don't have it. Seems it went through customs in Chicago then made it's way to LA (oops, wrong way). They did send me a photo of the actual package, but the label doesn't show a USPS tracking number, though it seems that's the current carrier. Hasn't updated in a couple days. Seems the problem would be with USPS, but I wonder if it has to do anything with the foreign/atypical labeling.

Yea as I posted before, I haven't had an issue with them, other than speed.

It might be USPS too. I have a package coming from NY to VA and it got routed and attempted delivery somewhere in Indiana. Supposedly it is being redirected back to me. Mine might be a double-label problem I am thinking...

Bikeinn is great. Unbeatable prices on many products. Easy to use order process, can easily add, remove, modify, cancel individual items in orders, etc.

Only thing is the shipping speed as noted. Usually takes a few days to a week to ship, then an additional 1-2 weeks to arrive after in transit.

I use them all the time to load up on consumables and stuff I am in no rush for.

Remember that international supply chains and logistics are a bit of a nightmare right now.

If they couldn't get stuff to you in a timely way pre-COVID, it ain't gonna be any better post-COVID.

I ordered something and took over a month to come, normally the last few times I got something from bikeinn took a week. The whole shipping logistics is effed obviously.

My order came from the netherlands and destination was upstate NY. Tracking stoped for a month and then all of a sudden it was in Portland, OR lol. Got here quick after that.

FWIW, placed my first order with them early April for a SRAM crank bolt. I'm in Montreal, and assumed for no particular reason they were US-based. I just found them through a google search and they were the cheapest option with shipping to Canada.

They got it out the door pretty fast, but like an earlier post described, the package disappeared for about three weeks before popping up in Canada Post tracking as having been received by customs.

Finally turned up, no big deal, but under the circumstances I should have paid closer attention and order from somewhere closer to home. At least ehir customer service was very responsive, and it's cute that they give you a photo of your package on their own tracking page - makes it feel real.

I bought a frameset from Condor once and it shipped with DHL and I had to pay duties and fees.

I’ve not had bikeinn orders shipped with DHL. They’ve always arrived via USPS here to Maryland.

I ordered an item from Bikeinn, my experience is not ideal if you're trying to return the item for a refund.

This is going to be a long story, so better get some popcorns before reading.

1. Dec 14th, ordered a Mavic Speed Release front thru axle (12x100) since they have the best price on the web.
2. Received the order in less than two weeks. Good shipping.
3. Now here's where the fun starts, they sent me a 12x142 axle (rear) and when I told them about it, they replied that they sent the correct one. Went to check the invoice and it only said Mavic speed release axle.
4. When I pointed out that the invoice does not say the actual axle length/size and that I remember that I ordered the one for the front axle and suggested that someone must have sent the wrong item, my invoice on their website is now showing 12x142 (w**?, I work in IT so I kinda know what can be done on electronic info).
5. After several message exchange, good for them the accept the return but I'll have to shoulder shipping cost to return. AND they have a very strict instruction on how to send it back.
6. Returned the item and it stayed in Spain's customs from Jan 20th until the end of April and now it's being sent back to me. Every time I remind them that the items is held in customs their reply is that they did their part to submit all the necessary docs to their customs.

Wonder what's going on after it leaves the originating country.

Mine left the Netherlands on May 15. Radio silence since then.

I did confirm that it was being shipped via air. If others are reporting a couple weeks of no updates you'd think it was coming via surface.

Update on this order: it arrived on 5/18, exactly 3 weeks after my order. Not the worst. I had ordered a Pro Stealth 152mm Allroad saddle and the Pro camera mount that attaches to the saddle for my Garmin Varia. Immediately out of the box I went to install the mount. The threading for the rearmost bolt just broke loose and starting spinning within the saddle after 1.5 turns of the bolt. One would think the optimal design here is to have a threaded plate inside the saddle for this mount, but it seems there are individual "nuts" glued into the saddle.

This began my efforts to communicate with a human at BikeInn. Long story short, I gave up after 5 attempts over 48 hours. Each time I received a quick automated email response that never addressed my actual question or issue or instructed me to use another page on their site to resolve the issue.

I called Shimano N.A. I had a pedal come unthreaded from the spindle within
the first mile a few years ago so this is my second Shimano warranty issue. Both times the person on the line had the attitude of "What did you do wrong? You bought this from an online retailer? Why would you do that?"

Anyhow, I can send the saddle back to Shimano on my dime for them to inspect it, which I will do.

All that said, I'm going to ride the saddle tonight to see if it works for me. If it does I'm seriously considering ordering another one from BikeInn because I've only seen it available at one or two other places and at about 50% more.

I should've searched for this thread before ordering, I guess. Consensus is pretty unanimous.

FWIW, I was not heavy handed. I'm not saying you suggest that, but it was a simple as turning the 3mm hex bolt. One had no issue. The bolts do have a blue thread locker applied, but they are both Shimano Pro products, so they obviously intend for this.

The Shimano rep said I had three options for warranty claim. Two of them involved an LBS/dealer. I told him that I ordered online for the same reason he's working from home; a global pandemic. And that even if taking the saddle to an LBS for this was a good option, I was not the kind of person who takes an item I purchased somewhere else to have them do the legwork (using their time and money) to handle the warranty claim. And for an item they likely do not stock. I asked him to confirm if that's indeed what he was suggesting and he sheepishly confirmed.

Veloo
05-22-2020, 03:59 PM
Yeah, them's the risks with online, overseas purchases. I wouldn't ask an LBS unless I had a buddy working in one who offered to do it.

Obviously not designed for access to the threaded area either.

I ordered my white Pro Stealth on May 6th, it was in the warehouse on May 11th, with NL Post International on May 12th, and accepted by USPS on May 12th?

That is the last known status. My best guess is either it is on a ship or stuck in US custom somewhere.

Got my cassettes. Sat in Chicago for a while -- assuming at customs. Once it was finally handed over to USPS it got here quick. About a month door to door. Hard to know if shipping delays are an issue with them or just the state of international commerce these days. I'd use them again if need be for a part I couldn't find stateside, but certainly nothing time-sensitive.

My guess is that many international shippers don't operate their own fleets of cargo aircraft, but instead buy unused cargo space on passenger aircraft. And since there are very few passenger aircraft flying between the US and Europe currently, the flow of packages from these shippers has slowed to a crawl.

That all makes sense. My order was placed on 6/24, and the tracking has shown the package sitting in the "The item is on transport to the country of destination" stage since 6/30. So, unless we are shipping things by boat now, that means for more than 2 weeks its been sitting on a pallet near an airport in the NL waiting to fly over....sigh...oh well. They seem to be a flush retailer model thats probably pulling stock from little accounts all over Europe to sell in one marketplace. There are other shops like them for other things but the INN companies seem to have the monopoly on sports related stuff.

I bought an outdoor jacket from them ages ago and it took over a month to arrive but was and is the best price I could find. Seems inter-European logistics are just not as quick as we're used to since there are probably lots of customs checks between all the borders.

My stuff from bikeinn showed up after 2 months. The package smelled like cool ocean air, which makes sense because I’m guessing it floated here from Europe given it took two frikken months.

Going on 6 weeks now for a pair of Assos gloves I ordered from Bikeinn. I ordered some gloves off the Pearl Izumi website in the afternoon and got them the next day...

Ordered PRO Stealth offroad saddle and bar tape June 24th and *finally* arrived today...that included a solid month where it must have sat in NL waiting for a boat or plane to customs in Florida, of all places. What a loooooong strange trip its been...

Don't know about that guy, but Merlin's fantastic. Ordered Campy parts last monday, had them in my hands that wednesday with free shipping.

I agree. I ordered a few things within the last couple months and they always arrive within a week. Same with chainreaction.

Update to the OP about Bikeinn.

Ordered nov 1st, order arrived today, the 22nd. They now offer the (very intrusive) Route App, for tracking. I passed as that app wanted access to my contacts, my email accounts and my photo’s, when i tried to opt out of those three items, wouldn’t let me complete registration. However, the caveat is that two alternate emails with “tracking” were not updated after 04 Nov, unbeknownst though, there was a spam email that had daily tracking/updates-i discovered this email on the 16th.

Now I get to build up a couple PL procured Parlee’s…..yippee!

I ordered a hub from them earlier in the year and it arrived without drama in a couple of weeks. Even with overseas shipping the total cost was the cheapest I could find on the same product.

I ordered some bibs and base layer on November 7th. I received them today via DHL. I always have it shipped DHL. I paid $35 in shipping and in total was cheaper than buying the stuff here. I have never had an issue with them.

DHL is key. Regardless of the vendor; BikeInn, Merlin, wheel co or manufacturer direct. Spend the extra and choose DHL to avoid drama and have it within days.

DHL, is better than FedEx, UPS and the rest. I love their communication. And yes it does give excellent peace of mind.

Just received order from BikeInn after approx 4 weeks using USPS (Rotor Aldhu 24; 46/30 round rings) - should have researched this forum first and will order again but use DHL.

Great prices and all good but USPS shipping estimate at order page was unrealistic (<10 days predicted to CA which leads to unrealistic expectations)

Did you have to pay any duties on the crankset? What was the total of your order?

No duties as was ~$411 (crank arms, bb axle and 46/30 rings) with shipping so well below $800

Got a set of tires from them earlier this summer; shipping was only a week or so from Spain. And cheap!

Yeah, but the key is DHL Express. I made this mistake when ordering some wheels from R2 in Germany. We opted for the free DHL option and the wheels didn't arrive for 6 months, where 2 months of that was R2 waiting on MCFK for the rims. Apparently DHL will contract out to the local carrier (USPS etc) and that's where things totally fall apart. DHL Express is totally handled internally and lighting quick, albeit for a fee.

My experience with any overseas company has been to pay the minor surcharge for expedited courier service (as others have mentioned, this is typically DHL). I've had some orders show up on the West Coast of the US in as little as two days, max time was 6 business days. It's usually an extra $10, and if you can get over the Amazon-induced stigma that shipping items needs to be free and they need to arrive yesterday, you'll get your parts in no time, and in good shape.

BikeInn - fine
ProBikeKit - fine
ChainReactionCycles - great
LordGun - A-OK

The only "major" parts retailer I haven't (needed to ) try so far has been CicliMatto.

LordGun, BikeInn = both great! I pay the extra for DHL to get it in 3-4 days from them to Michigan.

Bike24 = if I could pay for DHL I would, but once again, no complaints just takes a while sometimes!

bike-components is running a 10% off sale right now.

They apply to even Bora wheels, making a set of WTO 60s 1285 EUR.

And with the current USD/EUR exchange rate... well, they're looking pretty tasty!
