For those who might be interested, the first of a two part interview with David Kirk is up on RKP. This one focuses on early years and Serotta. I enjoyed hearing the whole thing.

I've listened to all episodes of "The Pull". I've learned a lot, discovered I need at least six more custom bikes and really enjoy Patrick Brady's infectious love of the bike.

Anyone remember his magazine Asphalt? Great publication that unfortunately didn't quite make it, but well done.

I never would have thought so but I’m in love with that paint job on the Serotta Colorado II... reminds me of a container of orange-raspberry sherbert.

Agreed. It's so outrageous that it's cool. But it's probably something I would have to give serious consideration. Especially after my wife says, "are you kidding?"

Oh, and the interview isn’t too shabby either.
I learned a lot.

I learned that every one of us who does not already have a CSI probably needs one.

The paint job on that Serotta was indeed fabulous.

That bike belongs to someone here, I think it's NRV. I modeled my Waterford Paramount after that Colorado II: stem, wheels, kit, etc. Now if only I had a paint job like that! What a lovely bike.

Great interview. Now I want a csi.

I have a CSi (repainted in that neon pink-to-orange fade, with a Dave Kirk fork), and it’s every bit as amazing as that interview would suggest. What I’ve wanted for some time (since before I saw one in person in my LBS) is one of Dave’s unpainted, lugged stainless-steel bikes. They are mindblowingly exquisite.

Thanks for the link! I was in my workshop working on bikes today. Dave's Serotta history lesson was inspirational!

Do it. I have a JKS and it's the best handling bike I've ever had. There's a nice balance between lightness in steering and stability. I'm probably going to want an Onesto also after part II drops next week.
