I'm sure this has been discussed here in the past.

Im 5'7 180lbs and find Rapha large a bit too tight. Going to try the XL

What others to check out?

Look for a club fit as they fit a bit looser than a race fit.
I like the club cuts alot better than race cuts.

Regarding Rapha sizing I'm referring to the core line of theirs

Maybe check out the Malibu jerseys by Eliel.

The ProCorsa jerseys from BikeTiresDirect and the DHB merino ones from chainreaction both work well for people who aren’t super skinny.

Rapha is tough depending on the line of jersey it is. I love the old Road Holland stuff as far as fit goes. For reference I am 5'8-5'9 depending on how my posture is that day and 200-220 depending on the season and find the xl stuff to be less form fitting.

I think you've got it right; size up.

You should be aware that most technical materials used for cycling jerseys require that the cloth be in contact with the skin to work properly. Reasonably tight jerseys are therefore required to get full advantage of the properties of the jerseys.

I've haven't heard Road Holland mentioned in several years. Nice guys, did they go belly up?

Problem with simply sizing up can be length. Might fit better but be too long. Other than looking sloppey it also becomes problematic with anything in the rear pockets. It sags and sways. Just have to experiment with different companys to see which fit your body.

Voler club fit should work and maybe Assos Mille series.

I like the Pearl Izumi semi form jerseys. They can be had for very cheap on competitive cyclist.

Agree the Voler club cut jerseys are a bit looser, for those of us that have a bit of a gut. Also some Performance jerseys fit that way as well. But you'd better move quickly.

Definitely true. If they too don't work I'll return everything.
Never tried assos. Only reason I decided to give Rapha another go is the hi viz option of pink and minimal branding otherwise
