the most extreme conditions i've raced in. i'd describe it as soupy mud and very deep. Tim Johnson's superior tecnical skills took over on lap two. It was very exciting to watch his mastery. Trebon kept it close for half the race and then cracked. it'll be interesting to hear what the elite riders have to say about the course.

i was staged at the back of the elite masters and finished somewhere back there as well. never really found a rythym and tripped around the course. i had a better day yesterday in seattle.

super fun weekend of racing.

The way the weather has been around here recently that just might be what you get. That course will turn into a mud fest in short order. And if you guys thought that the steep drop with the sharp turn at the bottom was hairy last years, it could be a real slip & slide this year if they use it again. If we get a cold snap like last year it'll be a mix of slop and hard frozen ruts. Whatever it's going to be..."it vill be verlly intarhesting."

based on how muddy the equipment, clothing and person got yesterday, i'd prefer tundra. However, the last 5 nats have seen freakish storms.

That was quite the Blizzard that happened on Friday of the Nats last year. Almost white out at some points. It certainly made the course very interesting for the rest of the weekend.

PS: And how many snow angles can BBDave make in one Cross Nat weekend? I lost count at 72 (oh geez, not again...), maybe Kevan remembers?

I drove by the stadium on 26 while heading out to Ken Wright for some pinot barrel tasting. It looked real muddy. The pinot was good.

you don't know the half of it and there's more to that story. Sacha and his gang had an oak-barrel wood-fired hot tob on the top of the hill overlooking the course. All of em were wearing those "panties" and watching the race from inside. They'd occasionally jump on the corse on the unicorn bike.

That's a Portland thang. Everyboday takes a group bath to clean off after each and every race. I'm building one for the Nats here in Providence.

I am in negotiations with Southwest airlines to let me bring my hot tub on the flight to Providence for Nationals. Consider this your official verbal V.I.P. pass, Zank

p.s. I have my ticket!!!

Good on you for making us all aware of the plight of the untan, Sacha.

Please don't elaborate on what V.I.P. stands for...
