Rims just arrived from Nextie. I have read somewhere what to do when packages look... less than promising, but can't remember where. This one looks crushed to me, as in, like, the impression of the rims are on the box Wile E. Coyote style.

What do you do in this situation? I signed for delivery. First mistake? Make a difference? What next?

Thanks in advance,
John

Take enough pix to show the condition of the sealed box in case you have to file a claim then open it. There may not be any damage.

Wheels should be fine.

Was damage noted when you signed for it?

I would take plenty of pics and open the box. If they are carbon rims they should be fine. If they are alum rims check them over and proceed to building.

Take pics of both sides from multiple angles.

Open box.

I bet the rims are fine.

As others have said, take multiple pics and then video tape the entire opening and inspection of the wheels.

Take a bunch of pix, then open and look for damage. If rims damaged, call whomever delivered it and refuse the delivery and it'll be sent back..call/contact who you bought them from. Just did this with a crushed box from Velocity..

I signed for delivery. First mistake?

Yes, though not insurmountable. If you're home when a package looking like that arrives, best course is to refuse it. That way the shipper winds up with the (no doubt) damaged merchandise and they are still obligated to provide you with product, as they have no Proof Of Delivery to fall back on.

But now that you have accepted the package, you want to contact the shipper, alert them of the damage, and if they're a commercial vendor ask them for an RMA (Return Material Authorization) number with return shipping labels to send the damaged package back. Also ask them to file a claim with the carrier (they'll probably do that without having to be asked, but asking shows that you're not insensitive to their financial investment).

If you bought these from a private individual you may want to file that damage claim with the carrier yourself.

Opened em up! They were NOT square though that was very funny. Visual inspection and White glove test passed. They are likely fine, lest a dish stick at LBS reveal they are way out of round or something.

the box damage is not a 100% indicator of content damage; a strong potential signal, yes, BUT NOT a for sure indicator.

Take pictures as you open it and do NOT delay in either deciding to keep or return.

He did and thinks they are just fine, unless they don't build up well for some reason.

Unless Justin Timberlake packed the box, you might as well open it.

This is the current config... The build is tight but the wheels are just not wide enuff nor carbon enuff.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190115/38e4eece2c1b44899154b7154472cd65.jpg
