View Full Version : Mavic Headset question...

I recently purchased a bike that has a 1", threaded Mavic headset on it (see the attached picture).

As you can see it doesn't have the traditional flats for a headset wrench.

Does this require a special Mavic wrench to fit it?

I've looked on the web, but can't find any info on it. The headset is in mint condition and I'd prefer not to butcher it up with the wrong tools.

Any suggestions on how best to remove it?

That is a nice headset.

I wonder how many of those tools Mel sells per year? Can't be too many...

I had that headset on a bike I sold many years ago...I wished I had kept it! I was a nice guy and gave the guy the tools when I sold it to him.
