When I try to post pictures I get a message that the file size is too large. What method do some of you use to take pictures from an iPhone and reduce them down to an acceptable file size?

Thanks

Same thing happens to me with my Samsung. Haven't figured out how to fix.

there are a number of photo resizing apps that will let rescale the photo down to size. 800x800 will usually fit. use https://resizeimage.net/

I use a site: https://postimages.org/

It's been super handy for posting pics here. You tell it what you want it resized for and it makes it happen. It takes some guesswork out of the equation with some standard resizing options to choose from (message boards, etc)

On iPhone, do a screenshot of the actual photo when viewing full size. The screenshot will upload easily then.

I think it's actually 1200 x 1200 now.

This seems easier but I have been emailing them to myself and selecting a smaller size.

Just upload to Flickr.

If you install the Flickr app on your phone, you can upload the images directly from the photo browser on your phone, and then copy/paste the 'share' > 'BBCode' text from Flickr.com instead of attaching to the Paceline in the traditional method.

Image-J is fairly full-featured, or even easier is https://www.irfanview.com/. In Irfanview, go to Image > Resize/Resample and select desired output parameters. Save file with new name.

This is good to know. I've been using 800 but will give 1200 a try.

I use mihov image resizer. Easy to use and free.
