Anyone have experience with the DT Swiss XR331 rim? (https://www.dtswiss.com/en/products/rims/mtb/cross-country/xr-331/):

i'm looking to build a wheel set that can do it all- a little gravel, road, and CX. Seems pretty light at 380g.

I haven't built this one but lots of DT and they are excellent quality BUT 380grams is really light for an aluminum rim for any discipline..

Does the light weight indicate to you that they are flimsy? I don’t want to end up with a flexy wheel. I was under the the assumption that a 28 spoke version would be pretty stiff and durable as it’s a MTB rim.

No such thing as a free lunch..light means less 'stiff' and less reliable than a comparable rim, quality wise, that weighs more. I think a 391 better choice, IMHO..BUT if you are a light rider, both in tonnage and technique and use enough and proper spokes..and build well..the 331 can work.

In your opinion, is the 391, with an internal width of 25, too wide to accept a 28C tire?

I have a 650b wheelset with those. 135lbs.

Don't find them flexy at my weight.
They've held up really well: gravel/road/singletrack.

Probably not..the 361 is also an option or 421..700c/29er?
