Ill be in Tucson for 4 days in February and im hoping to go riding for three hours a couple of days. Ive heard great things about Mt. Lemmon and the Saguaro Nat. Park

Ill be staying at the JW Marriot and Im looking for a bike shop that rents bikes near by. Any suggestions? Also its my first time in Tucson, so if anybody has another ride that I should consider near the hotel I would really appreciate the feedback.

Thanks for the advice!

There are some great Tucson threads here and across the hall (v salon) that should come up with the search function.

Don’t know the location of your hotel, but Broadway Bicycles has been good for me in the past.

Starr Pass? If so that's pretty far west so the Gates Pass, McCain loop is nearby.

Mt. Lemmon can be the amazing ride around here. Keep in mind that it can be cold and icy above about 6000'. Depending on the clowns in DC, the National Parks may not be an option. :mad:

Colossal Cave and Pistol Hill is a great ride.

Saddlebrooke and Biosphere is one of my favorites. Some people don't like the high speed roads, but there are big bike lanes and I like being out in the desert up there.

++++ to all BobO's leads.

Fairwheel the place to go for a rental. By the U of A. Call ahead and they can help you out. Check out the "Shootout" ride on their website, map and all. It goes down Mission Road and is "down the hill" from the Marriot. That route has nice roads and not much traffic down on the reservation. If your adventurous, try the ride! Saturday mornings. Slightly slower ride 15 min earlier (20+ mph) and one slower (18 mph avg) 30 min earlier. For a variation of that ride, on Duval Mine into Sahuarita at the first light, take a left on LaCanada and left on Helmet Peak Rd. 4+ miles up Helmet Peak back to Mission and looong gradual downhill back into town.

I wouldn't count on Mt. Lemmon too much in Feb. As mentioned, it could be cold up there. Was just closed a bit for snow.

Enjoy!
