Theodore, I’m the guy that you let follow you out today from Mt Lowe. Thanks. I was getting cold, the sun was going down, my phone died, my garmin was unresponsive, and so I was a little lost. If you’re ever in San Francisco and want some routes to ride then hit me up. Happy Holidays.

Hey Ken, yes, that’s the trail I rode (or rather walked). It for sure had some thin and exposed sections. Luckily I slipped only once and was able to crawl back up. I was exploring Echo Mtn (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Echo_Mountain). Maybe you’ve been? It’s a beautiful area with 360 deg views. The single track riding was choice. I downloaded a route that had me going in sort of a figure 8. I think I took one of the loops in the wrong direction. The resolution on my Garmin 800 isn’t that great and the navigation features seem better for road. If there aren’t any printed maps at the trailhead, I’m usually able to at least snap a picture of the routes, but this place had neither.

I’m not sure what was happened to my garmin. At some point it just stopped tracking. It’s never done that before. I should’ve tried restarting. My tracking info showed a giant straight line from where I guess it stopped tracking somewhere on the mountain to where I parked my car.

Theodore was also visiting from out of town but had ridden the area once before (and had a working phone).
