Here's one for Obtuse and others in the know.

Which generation of the Cosmic Carbone's is the most desirable...

I've got a line on a set of the old old ones with silver hubs. Are there major differences between the various generations? All things being equal (NOS/same price) which generation is best...

they're all good but the newest ones known as the sl's are the best in terms of hub design and weight. the previous generation with the big graphics has been my all-around favorite non-ada wheel since i got'em though.

I have those. The ones that have 16 spokes f&r.

There fine if you tt on smooth roads, but compared to my other rear wheels, flex too much in a sprint or on short, steep climbs.

I have not tried any of the newer versions. I suspect they are better since the rear wheel has 20 spokes.

According to mavic you can't get rims for the 16 spoke wheels anymore.

Thanks.

The kid ended up wanting more for them than they were worth...
