Shimano folks: 780/980 left arm with XT 8000 right arm?

Can anyone confirm that the XT 780-series and XTR 980-series left crank arms are compatible with an XT 8000-series right arm?

I'm seeing opinions that they are a 100% match but would love more data points.

The 980 arm will have a different Q factor. The 780 would match.
