Serious question. How big are your hands?

I have a set of SRAM locking grips you can have for $5 plus whatever it costs to ship. Brand new in package.

I used oury for many years but i love ESI chunky silicone grips now. I do not ride with gloves, but maybe if you are a super sweaty guy they may get slippery glove-less.
EDIT: oops, not lock on style

I tend to sweat a lot and have had great success with the ESI Chunky grips. No lock-on, but easy enough to get on and off with some windex, and mine have never slipped.

Ourys get dangerously slick for me.

Plus, after a summer of riding, Oury's start to get slimy. I also roll with ESI chunky, but have ridden various lock-ons without real issue - if forced to pick a favorite locking grip, I'd probably chose Bontrager.

For locking grips, I use Chromag Squarewave grips.

They do an XL version for larger hands too.

I used to ride with ESI (regular and extra chunky). They worked ok. The Extra Chunky, I didn't like as much. I have XL hands, but the super squishy foam made it feel too.....ambiguous. Especially when out of the saddle mashing, pulling on the bars.

Best ones I've found: Ergon. Not with those stupid wings. GE1. Nice, grippy, and tiny bit of give. Fantastic.

Lizard Skins

Ergon. Note the wings can be really nice if you are not doing a lot of up/down tech stuff. The problem is if they are set for max support they get in the way when the front end points steeply down since they prevent you from rolling your wrist back on the bar. Same goes for the tiny bar end on the wings...for certain trails/riding that's a nice bit to have to change hand position - obviously not in a deep tight forest section. .

esi are my favorite grip but i have not once been able to get them on or off 'easily'. with windex or whatever.

i've also had different grips to use along with my lock on clamps but over time they all seem to develop notches so they kinda rock inside the clamps. they don't throttle because the clamps hold tight, but just develop a slight play in them so they're moving within the clamps. not a fan of this platform anymore.

so far i'm having decent success with the cheapo specialized clamp on foamies i found at my lbs. i've only ever seen them with rubber grips online, but i like these foam ones better. unsure what'll happen when i wear these out tho.....

Rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle, slip right off.

yep. tried alcohol, windex, water, soapy water, hair spray. the internet has funny suggestions. for a while i thought i just had thicker than normal bars until i swapped bars. same thing. i guess they just don't like me. i've moved on.

I’ve also hated taking off those grips. Trying to get alcohol down was a chore. I heard a blast of air is best.

But 3mm wrench is easy peasy.

I have been using Padloc grips. Aside from preventing rotation, the soft triangular section at the end provides a lot of cushioning.

Air compressor makes ESI/Wolftooth grips go on easy. The Wolftooth grips are actually made by Red Monkey and they make a lock on version here: https://www.redmonkeysports.com/collections/mountain-bike-grips/products/klampz-lock-on-silicone-grips?variant=11405947732083

So if you want a silicone grip but want the lock on convenience, there you go!

Hah! I love your enthusiasm. Will try them on the next go around

And I always have to razor cut them off as well!

+1 on the Ergon GE1. The only time I don't use them is in the winter when my Wolf Tooth Pogies (Bar Mitts) require access to the bar ends for insertion of their plugs to hold the mitts in place. The I use a Race Face lock on with an open end.

Another vote for Ergon, but I've been running the GD1, which Ergon markets as their "gravity" grip. They work just fine for my old-guy XC riding.

Gloves are pretty much a requirement, though.

New funny suggestion: we used spray paint of all things to put grips on, dried nicely and stuck them on well. Understood that sometimes nothing seems to work, for sure. box knife/razor takes all the grips off well :)

If you need to remove your ESI/other foam grips non destructively, and you don't have access to a compressor, a syringe with 40 ml of isopropanol works just fine. slide the tip under the edge of the grip, inject, twist until the alcohol works its way around, then just slide off.

Deity Waypoint and Fabric XL are what I have right now. I like both. The fabrics are bigger but also more firm. The deity grips are thin but have nice cushion. The fabric ones also look AWESOME looking down while riding. Not a reason to buy them but a nice extra benefit :)

These have become my favorites. Excellent grip wet or dry, comfortable, perfect amount of plush in the grip.

Another vote for Ergon GE1. I really like ESI as well but I wish they were lock on, I have issues w them sliding around eventually.
