anyone feel strongly one way of the other about center lock to 6 bolt adapters. I have some 6 bolt discs around but a wheel set with splines. I know I can buy cheap center lock rotors. I just looked at my pile of rotors and thought it would be better to put those to work.

Thanks

Got a set. Worked as expected. If you need a pair, I have one you can have.

thanks for the feedback. A shop has a set locally that I think I will pick up.

I'm in the same boat, having a stack of 6-bolt 160 rotors. I've used the Shimano adapters on two installations, very straightforward. Let us know which adapter you use.

I have a set of the DT Swiss adapters and they work great. They clamp the rotors on some pins, no screws required. Centerlock makes mounting and removing rotors much quicker, but you need the right tool.

Yes, get the ones where you don't need 6 bolts to make it work. Like the DT or Reynolds style adapters.

What is the advantage of no screws?

Simpler, lighter, less parts.

I just realized that a lot of these take an different external tool for the lockring. I am going to try to get some adapters that use the shimano cassette lockring tool.

The older DT Swiss adapters used a cassette lockring tool. I think those only work with QR wheels though. With 15mm thru axles(and perhaps with 12mm thru axles as well), the end caps are too big, thus the change to a different tool. The tool needed is the same as some bottom bracket, but I forget which one, sorry!

I think I have a couple of the older DT ones that use a cassette lock ring tool, you are welcome to them for the cost of shipping.

Same as the Shimano External bottom bracket tool. These are mostly for thru-axle(15mm/20mm) but work on both.
