Having an old set of Enve road wheels sitting around, I thought I might trade them back to Enve and apply the $1k credit to a new set of MTB wheels.

Mind you, I do not NEED new wheels, but that isn't the point.

I'd be swapping some Ibis 741s (34mm internal) with no-name and DT350 hubs for Enve M640s with a CK or DT240 hub (my choice).

For about the same price, I can get the Reynolds Blacklabels with I-9 hubs.

Any opinions? I am doing trail riding, a lot of it lift-served. Would put new rubber on as well. Currently riding 2.4s, so could stay at least that big. Was also thinking of splurging on a new fork.

But... in the back of my mind, I am lusting over a new Pivot with LiveValve....which by the way comes with the Blacklabels.

can't help you decide between the enves and reynolds. but if you're looking at a wheelset plus fork, i'd lean towards the bike.

Except the LiveValve equipped bike is not a small purchase--and a real vanity buy.

I'm running a set of 60/40 plus laced to Kings on my steel Breadwinner hardtail and love them. I have Maxxis 2.8's mounted on them and it's the perfect setup for this bike. An all around great wheelset and the trade in makes it even more enticing.

Or Stan's Podium wheels.

what improvement would you be looking for in a new set of wheels? stiffer? wider? engagement? lighter? blingier?

unless it's serving an actual need that you had prior to enve's trade in offer, i'd resist the bait

but then, new stuff is always nice....

The lifetime warranty on these is really tempting.

I had Derby's w/ Hadley hubs that I LOVED. Bulletproof, light, wide and super stiff. Loved the tire profile on them. Had good experience with their CS as well.

Best warranty and all that
Ridden both the I9 and DT350, think I prefer the DT for how quiet they are.

Side note - only available in Boost built from the factory so not sure if that's a factor.
