pfff... at 80 bucks plus a 60 bucks tire... I can get like 10 tubulars for that and even toss them away after a puncture.

Yesterday saw like 32 mm cx tubulars like for 15 bucks... at that point again... buy 10, toss them away type of deal...

I see a new use for my old pool noodles:)
It is an interesting concept. Why couldn’t you have a layer of closed cell foam running along the inside of your tire with the remainder of space being air, which you could inflate to pressurize the system? Should be in pervious two small cuts and punctures.
I have some pipe wrap laying around at home.… may be a fun project...or a good way to ruin a nice tire.

I have heard good things about them. However, I think I'm going to be looking at some of these for next year https://endubikes.com/nube-tubeless/ They are cheaper, lighter, and there is a thread over on MTBR with folks who seem pretty happy with them.

From experience, I got 4 rides out of them before I had to bin them, they do soak up sealant. Schwable Pro-Core is the best I've used and it's similar money.

Failed experiment.

I have 2.3" Bontrager tires and the online retailer told me to use size medium - makes sense since they're marketed for 2.25" - 2.5" tires. However, when they arrived I immediately sensed they would be too big in terms of volume. It looked like they would *completely fill* the tire.

Anticipating a problem and not having a compressor, I took them to my LBS. A very experienced, competent mechanic absolutely could not install them. He said the effort required would likely damage my carbon rims. I suppose I could have exchanged them for the smaller size, but I decided to give up instead.
