Just saw that sunrace makes some interesting 11-40 9 Speed mountain cassettes. Any body using sun race cassettes? Any feedback is welcome.

Thanks

The 11 speed 11-46 on my fatbike shifts fine, no real issues after 8-900 miles of use. The black color comes off pretty easy, only cosmetic.

Is it raw steel under the black? Any rust?

Had luck with 11 speed mtb, not no much with 8 and 9 speed, quality is off

It's steel except the largest cog, I think. Not sure if any protective coat, but no rust, and I am not a meticulous bike maintainer.

I used 7 speed Sun Race freewheels and they worked great.

I used a SunRace 9s on my mountain bike for about a year or so with no problems. Shifted well, the ramps did just what they were meant to and it didn't wear any worse than expected. Actually held up well in Florida sand and silt and wet.

I've been using the Sunrace CSMX3 10 speed wide ratio cassette for a couple years now. It works great with my 1x mtb. When comparing it another mtb setup with a 11 sp XT wide ratio cass, it shifts just as nicely. One thing I have noticed compared to the XT the Sunrace fits somewhat loosely on the freehub body compared to the XT. This has left gouges on the freehub due to sloppy fit. Thought I might add both the Sunrace and the XT were installed on White Industries XMR and CLD hubs.
