Hi, I'm looking to buy a new bike but I have no interested in BB90, BB30, PF30, BBright, BBwhatever so I'm looking for a list of manufactures that still use standard Italian or English threaded BB system. I know Pinarello still does but not interested in them for financial reason. Carbon frame specifically. Thanks!

Merckx still use Itallian BBs, Cinelli use a mix of BSA & ITA, Tomassini use ITA and Bianchi use BSA

Specialized Roubaix from Expert model to below is now threaded bottom bracket per below article:

Pinerellos and Bianchi Intenso are other carbon frames that have threaded bottom brackets in 2018.

Merckx also. Some Jamis.

you forgot BB386 :)

Maybe also look at bikes with T47 which is just a 30mm threaded... I am a fan even though I never had a bike with it. Just nice to have the best from both worlds.

I don't even really have a problem with press fit unless its internal routing (which most bikes that have it are indeed press fit). Its so dumb that if I want to change a brake cable, I now have to hammer out a bottom bracket (and really in a lot of cases, throw it in the trash)

T47? there's another one? Everytime I turn around another format shows up? What a nightmare, looks like im doing good having far superior italian bb's in my bikes :P

Many of Specialized newest frame models are switching back to English threaded.

Which ones? Any available as frame and fork only?

All Specialized bikes are running disc brakes only now I believe so you may have to take that into consideration if targeting a brand new frame.

Color me mistaken. They started going back to English on the mountain bikes, like the Epic. I thought they had on the new Tarmac as well, but I was wrong.

Sorry. But they do still make rim brake road bikes.

Merckx also. Some Jamis.

Merckx uses BB86 on their carbon frames and BSA for steel.

I dislike pressed in bottom brackets. But the T47 works fine, since it's threaded. AFAIK it is currently only on custom bikes.

Yes, and not all of them are compatible with 44mm thru-axle, either.

You can order Sarto carbon frames with threaded BB. I believe the Pina F8 is threaded as well.

Cyfac has a BSC option on their carbon frames. Pricey, but they show up on the Bay often enough if you're patient. Fantastic bikes-

Just curious, what would be the purpose of new builders using italian bb shells? Serious question. There seems to be no reason(besides downsides) to use that instead of BSA, but i may be wrong.

T47 is excellent. It's threaded. It's a larger version of BSA.

Tool to thread the 'far superior Italian' BB more simple and guarantee that both sides threads are parallel to one another..

T47 is excellent. It's threaded. It's a larger version of BSA.Trek moving towards T47 (albeit slightly tweaked). it's on the 2020 Crockett and allegedly they're heading that way with other models soon.

Spooky and Vynl both make aluminum bikes with BSA BB's. and of course any custom builder will do it for you.

Let's ask Pinarello -

Italian thread Bottom bracket: Pinarello does not compromise on this point. For us this is the best solution overall to ensure rigidity, performance and reliability over time.

So, uh, there you have it. Rigidity.

I think that Pinarello really props up the Italian bottom bracket industry. Why else would a company like Rotor continue to make them? It ain't for neo-retro Bottechias.

is it because one tapping rod can go through both since the threads are the same both sides?
