View Full Version : OT: best way to cover a not-in-use downtube shifter braze on

So I've got a 1x10 converted old steel frame, and the NDS shifter post is no longer in use as a result. I'm not keen to put a bell on it, but I would like to put SOMETHING there. I can't find any bottle openers that mount to shifter posts, unfortunately.

Any suggestions? The theme of this bike is "whimsical" but the colors are still mostly red, chrome and leather, so not looking for a squeaky turtle or anything.

Not going to say the :best way", but certainly an option.

I’ve seen a set of dice used before.

Yeah, the problem solvers is an option, I hadn't seen that particular bell before - that's pretty slick.

I used plastic acorn nuts from the local Ace Hardware....they were a perfect fit to cover the bosses.

I've been trying to find a way to attach little propellers that spin in the wind.
