They were gorgeous custom made Mtn bikes. I ran across this article today.

They did make the coolest forks back in day, and now they make the best running boards for trucks, the PowerStep. Of course, it still uses the parallelogram linkage they were known for. The Bestop ones are crap.

Don't forget the infamous "Horst Link" that change full suspension characteristics. Ahead of their time....maybe aliens

From article:
Stranded without a source for replacement parts, relatively few rideable examples survive today.

They appear on eBay from time to time -- usually the police branded models.

I have an acquaintance who has a 1998 Mercedes Benz branded Sport Cruiser model and a Mercedes Benz branded 1999 All-Terrain MB-4 that he never rode. He tried to sell them a couple of years ago. Both were in great condition, but he was asking too much. (I may still have pics somewhere...)

Forumite gis_guru is restoring an AMP B4 and split-downtube Mongoose Amplifier at the moment. Very cool bikes and light.

Was Horst Leitner the first to put rear suspension on mountain bikes?

I had one....sort of killed it by doing a bit of downhill.
