I can get a good deal on new 12 speed Campy groupset but need a cassette...anyone know where can get a relatively inexpensive one? List prices are pretty steep.

The only Campag 12sped cassettes are Super Record 11-29 or 11-32, if you're getting a good deal on the groupset surely that would include the cassette?

Doesn't come with a cogset? BUT about $260 or so is the best price I have found.

It only looks expensive because Shimano don't give a sh17 that there product is slaughtered online by companies selling of OE product at 70% off RRP because they've hit budget on bike sales and are happy to clear what they have left for $100 a build kit.

Speaking about 12s cassettes are these R, SR or C, ie how many Ti cogs do they have ?

I’m sure Miche will bring out an affordable 12 speed cassette soon.

I’ll only 2 12s cogsets, 11-29, 11-32. 6 to cogs, 6 steel. SR/Record. Chorus is still 11s...at least for now.

Chorus 12spd is 18mths away

The 12 speed cassettes are all steel. They only exist as Super Record for now.

If you look at what makes Chorus Chorus in the 11 speed range (aluminum pulley cages, aluminum front derailleur fork, solid crankarms, steel bearings, etc), that's basically what you have with Record 12. I'd be surprised if Chorus 12 materializes. What is left to "downgrade" relative to Record 12? The one possibility is a less expensive cassette. If you compare wholesale costs of Chorus 11 to Record 12, they are nearly the same except for the "Super Record" level 12 speed cassette. I personally thought 3 groups was 1 too many at the top range. 2 makes more sense to me.

Having seen the blue prints, Centaur, Potenza and Chorus will be be 12 Speed in 18-24mths. Also 11 Spd will be supported for the next 10yrs

Cool. Will be interesting to see what is different between them all. Chorus just seems redundant to me relative to what we have seen in 11 speed.

Was at the factory and asked the question, they will but it's not a high priorty. The SRM cranks we're cool

That is helpful and will help me delay buying Campy 11

I was contemplating selling a 2014 NOS Super Record group to buy a new 12 speed Record kit. Maybe I'll just get Dura Ace?

I bought a new Chorus 11 group recently. I've got no use for an 11T cog, so I had to get an $80 centaur cassette, to get a 12-32. Seems like a good price for an all steel cassette.

I don't either, but I've got a couple bikes with a 50x11, which is nearly identical to a 53x12. Running a 50x39 and an 11-28 cassette and it's a super useful combination for high, low and everything in between.

Anyway, given the extreme costs today of these groups I've concluded that Shimano 105 is my new Campagnolo 10-speed. It works (even) better in my subjective opinion and loves you long time and it costs a fraction of anything else high-end on the market.

I'm afraid Campagnolo is going to lose even more customers, including former lifers like my self.

So I am confused oldpotatoes says 6ti cogs and 6 steel and Zank says 12 steel cogs.

Which one is it ?

zank

12 steel. The 6 biggest are machined in two triplets, each from a single piece of steel similar to what sram does.

Hum, confusing indeed as it looks like the current difference between steel and Ti on 11s R and SR.

If it is steel all around I find it weird to call this SR.

Did some research and I'm still not sure..looking at the pix, it sure looks like the bigger cogs are that 'ti' look..otherwise not sure why they are MSRP $350+.

email to my 'bird' at Campag, NA BUT

The 6 larger sprockets are also available in two single-piece steel triplets, to avoid energy loss

Sounds like all steel..pricey..hopefully Chorus will become 12s along with a less expensive cogset, less carbon, more steel..ala Chorus now as compared to SR/Record 11s..Don't know.

Whether Potenza and Centaur become 12s? I think SR/Record wireless , rim and disc, way before that..

Can't be having hysteresis losses in twisting the cog clockwise can we.
