Unfortunately, someone in SC stole the numbers I was going to pick.
Now my family and friends have to go to work.
NPR must continue its fund drives.
The bike industry will suffer.
Life is so unfair.

If won the lottery, I'd be at work bright and early the next day -that money isn't worth as much unless everybody I cant stand sees me with it everyday!

I already had my life as a billionaire planned

To say I'm disappointed is an understatement:)

I would rather win the 40 mil Friday. After the big to do its under the radar and nobody needs a billion dollars..... YMMV.

Yeah, but I find $40M kind of limiting.

Second chance tonight with powerball. Don't give up so easy.

I haven't been following the news this morning, so I'm just keeping hope alive that one of the tickets my wife got yesterday was a winner and she's been too busy to check.

Unless she commuted to South Carolina to buy the ticket, I have some disappointing news for you.

i would have a blast giving millions to non profits/charities. Providing funds for lives that can't fight for themselves... kids/animals/the earth would be very gratifying for me. I bought a ticket so my wife could quit her job we could retire to BC stand in a river and swing flies. damnit. I had a plan.

I saw that the winning ticket was not sold here. I will somehow have to soldier on, but I'd be working today regardless.

Some practical advice for the winner from the New York Times: How to Win the $1.6 Billion Mega Millions Jackpot Without Ruining Your Life (https://www.nytimes.com/2018/10/23/upshot/mega-millions-what-do-first-if-you-win.html).

from my favorite economist...Eliot Eisenberg....the Bowtie economist:

Lucky Lottery

Tonight, if the Mega-Millions jackpot is not shared, the winner will enjoy the largest lotto prize in world history at $1.6 billion. Two changes created these huge jackpots; doubling of the price to $2/ticket and reducing the chance of winning from 1 in 258,890,850 to 1 in 302,575,350. This was done because of fear of "jackpot fatigue" from paltry prizes of $100 million. In FY2018, lottery sales totaled $77.7 billion.

Everytime my wife or I buy a .lottery ticket (maybe once a month) we are entirely convinced we are going to win.

Jokes aside, my colleague at work won $500k earlier this year! Not tons, but took the edge off, that's for sure.

Whoever won that $1.6bn - I truly hope they have plans to gift a large portion of that to others in need. Not to myself or likely to anyone on this forum, but to set up a philanthropic organization dedicated to making the world a better place (my wife is a fundraiser, so Ive been indoctrinated.)
