That would like hitting a deer here in the states.

I am assuming that was on a fast descent and he had no chance to stop or got broadsided?

Yep, that's a pretty short sharp descent, 6km from top to bottom and I regularly top 65kmh going down. That's the lower part of the hill and is quite built up with housing etc, but I can envisage exactly where that is... Fiertetimestwo and I have seen kangaroos through that section often enough.
