Morning folks. I just picked up a Felt F15x frame (incl PF30 installed).
He's still got the original crankset for $40 more,
OR I could buy the Wheels Manuf spacers for $30 and use a 105 5800 crankset I already have.

To ask simply, is one set up better than the other when cost doesn't matter?

Geezz this image came in YUUGE....

I can't quite tell from your picture, but doublecheck that that is PF30 and not BB30. This explains the difference (https://wheelsmfg.com/bb30-vs-pf30) - BB30 was notorious for creaking and the potential for ovalization of the BB shell, and PF30 largely solves BB30's issues.

But I'd say go based on what cranks you want to use - and then use the BB to match. If you have 30mm spindle cranks (which work on BB30 and PF30 systems) that you want to use, than keep the BB. If you have Shimano or GXP cranks that you want to use, then use the Wheels MFG adaptor (or a KCNC Threaded Adaptor, which is my preferred approach actually).

Depends on what the crankset is...if it's an FSA Gossamer or similar, I'd pass.

Thanks for the reply.
Great catch on the BB30. I've only ever had Shimano setups, and assumed PF30 was PressFit30, and that the BB30 must just be a larger threaded bottom bracket. This one IS a BB30.

The bearings in there now are nice and smooth, and the adapter kit is the same for both. I'm going to end up with the adapters, so I can use my power meter crankset for the rest of the CX season.
