I just ordered a Ritchey WCS Aluminum stem with a 26 mm clamp , you know the ones that weigh 100 grams for an 11 cm length, looks like you can spend twice as much for a carbon stem that weighs 130 grams from those same makers at Ritchey . No wonder Big Mac left this place awhile ago.

They appear to be still available on the website. Let them make their margin on the carbon and we'll buy the classic WCS alu bar and WCS stem ...

Wherever BigMac is, I hope he is riding and still kickin a$$ ... I vow to beat his 13:48 DMD one day, yeah right :crap: :crap:

I didn't like the wcs stem, it was too flexy in a 110. good for the skinny guys...but I'm only 165 and everytime I stood on it, the steering was all over the place. I think their carbon stems might be stiffer, but I haven't tested them. but I know some people really love the wcs stems and I think the design is beautiful...just my two cents.

Biketiresdirect.com also has them.....figure 26mm bars are on the way out for the "new" bikes......... The "wing" and 31.8 are taking over. I think Easton has just about stopped making the 26.

The wing bars if you have nver tried them do work well for me on my S&S bike.

I just got an Easton EC90 in 26mm for $129 from Performance.

And a Ritchey Pro 110 stem for free after I redeemed my points ($39.99 down from $89)

I'm always seizing the sweet spot for closeouts. Just as Archibald steals the peach, so I seek to seize the best price.

Thanks for the heads-up. Did they say anything about the Ritchey alu bars?

Is there any difference in the models that don't have the rainbow stripe on them - the old ones with just the silver graphic?

And besides eBay, any other tips on where to get the 26mm size cheap?

Thanks,
Jim

Weight is the biggest factor . I really don't think 26 mm clamps are going away since MTB use 25.4 , its easy to cast or machine the MTB stem to a wider bore.
