That's nuts. I've done some e-bike conversions, but I've never packed or repacked cells into a battery box. I know I don't really have the correct tools to do so safely.

I also stick my hands into live guitar amplifiers all the time as part of my job, so I have a respect for high voltage and high current electricity.

Part of me is suspicious that battery terminals touching caused an explosion. I can see it causing a spark, and then igniting something flammable nearby. Still, it's a bit scary.

I'm curious what bad idea he had for assembling batteries. Lithium will vigorously burn when shorted
