The forum has evolved from Kahuna to Serotta to the Paceline.

Ownership was passed along from Ben to Pete McKeon and the original moderator team a while back.

That team has evolved as people’s lives have changed.

So, the moderator team currently “owns” the forum.

Not sure about the reasoning for this query, but it did remind me of the imbalance of resources on this forum.

Volunteers running a heavy traffic public forum is an admirable task. I just made a donation too...

I have wondered how one becomes a "sponsor" but never got anywhere with that.... perhaps this forum already has all the money they need! :)

I also think that this forum many times drifts off topics too far away from cycling and that babysitting of these threads becomes a burden. But that's my opinion...

In all seriousness, on the other forum I give away quite a few things with the condition that the recipient make a donation, usually a small amount like less than $50 for most items.

Thanks for the donation. Mr. Arbuckle is aka Keith A , our forum technical guru.

He works 60-80 hrs a week in his regular job and donates his time to the forum when he’s free. All the mods have real jobs and we donate our time and energy here. This is a great place.

Yes, the OT threads can be a burden to monitor but in real life nobody talks bikes 24/7 and there is a lot of wisdom in the collective forum members.

This is not for profit, and no one makes anything from this forum. The sponsors we have pay for the monthly costs of hosting the forum. When we initially took this over from Serotta, that cost was coming out of my pocket :eek:

BTW, if you don't know who the moderators are, then look at the bottom right of the General Discussion page and they are listed there. They are a HUGE asset to the forum and it wouldn't function without them.

Thanks for the pointer, I knew some of the names but not all. Huge appreciation to all of you, Paceline is an incredible resource in many ways and a lot of that is down to you and your effort. I mean, Paceline not only enabled me to get my Pegoretti but also prevented my defacing it with a straight seatpost. :no:

declaring he has an agenda is a bit of a reach, but mr pink's 2nd round of questions are themselves curious questions ask after stating he's "just curious".
i'd be lying if i wasn't wondering why he's asking these things, especially on the forum rather than in a PM to a mod.
