My wife cut this out of yesterday's paper and had it on the kitchen table when I woke up this AM...

That's a great drawing of a bike, and exactly the advice I give my wife and kids.

I live and work in a large college town and make it a habit to go for a walk at lunch time every day and just observe drivers as they drive by. IDK if its a generational thing, I definitely see what appears to be Gen X'rs doing the same thing but... It's freakin' frighting the number of people I see driving down the road with phones stuck in front of their faces.

In fact just yesterday I was in a cross walk walking across the street when a car came to a screeching halt! The driver was obviously apologetic and politely waved me across the street with his phone.

I worked on highway lighting and traffic signal crews in the past. It’s unbelievable what one sees going on out there.
Heck, I saw a woman drop her kid off at the local grade school one morning. Woman drove through the parking lot with a dog on her lap, a phone to her ear, and a cigarette in the hand that was on the steering wheel.

Is Frazz what Calvin calls himself in college?

I have never heard of Jef Mallett, but he apparently spends some time on a bike as this comic strip alludes.

I saw that similarity, too. Interestingly, Bill Watterson was also sympathetic to our lot, e.g.
