Most of us have heard about converting a 700c bike to 650b, but I never heard of this one before:

In the thread "Small road bicycles 650c to 650b?", @thwart mentioned
Moved my wife's bike from 650c to 26" MTB rims due to the lack of tire options, and we're currently running Specialized Flak Jackets, 26 x 1.25. They measure about 30 mm wide.

I realize you don't need tires this wide, but going to 26 inch wheels is another option for you.

Whoa, whoa, whoa -- hang on. You can convert 650c to 26"? That's cool to know. I'd never considered it, and thought it deserved its own thread in the archives.

A quick check online says that the rim diameter of 650c is 571mm, and 26" rims are 559mm. A difference of 12mm; cut that in half and you get a change of 6mm. So if you're running a bike with 650c wheels and "standard" (short) reach brakes (39-49mm) and switch to "medium" reach brakes (47-57mm) or long reach brakes, you'd get not only more room for potentially bigger tires, you'd also get a much larger selection of rims and different options for tires.

Not world-changing, nor as much of a big deal as 700c > 650b, but worth knowing.
