It’s been nearly 50 years since I’ve been to the Sequim and Lake Crescent areas for anything except business. Born there and with many childhood memories, particularly at the Lake with very strong family ties. There’s even a road with my name on it. It’s going to be a little painful being there, our family farm was sold when my dad died, it’s now a field of apartments and places with family memories are long gone

We’re going drive across the state to spend a week there, probably based in Sequim, with our road bikes and wanting to explore to see what’s new and not. Can any of you fine folks recommend routes and places? Not gonna climb Hurricane Ridge or like that, we want to do more of a ‘European’ sight-seeing thing. What are the secondary roads through Sequim/Dungeness/Agnew like? Any good LBS in the area?

The Olympic Discovery Trail covers a bit of the northern peninsula and goes through Sequim. I haven't ridden it though. We were in the Olympic last month and I wanted to check out the riding but family scheduling put an end to that.

Someone else will have a more productive response, but couple weeks ago I went to Sequim the fam, I had to come back early so I rode back to Bellingham. The portion of my ride that was on the Olympic Discovery Trail was very pleasant. Nicely paved, mostly through woods and such, very little foot or bike traffic. We also mountain biked a good bit of the "adventure" portion the day before, which was some decent XC riding.

It seemed like there was a fair amount of decent country roads in the immediate Sequim area, but less so connecting in a meaningful way further out (i.e., without having to brave the highway).

Hello Dave
I am at work now but will send you a PM about riding our great area. May be I missed it but when do you plan on being here? I drive a school for for Sequim School District so now I have to go look up Thompson rd. So where was the farm at?

Have a great day

Thanks John. Our farm was on what’s now N 5th Ave. It was called Evergreen Harbor Farm.

“My” road is at Lake Cresent; Camp David E Thompson road. It goes from Fairholm along the backside of the lake.

Our plan is to arrive in Sequim the 21st or 22nd.
