Okay, I've been hankering for a new set of wheels for way too long. And I've spent way too long being indecisive: Ligero-Ergott, Ergott-Williams,Williams-Garcia...
So the latest wrinkle is that I have a chance to buy the following:
Record hubs, 32 hole
DT 1.1 rims
14-15g DT spokes

All for the sum of $300 which includes a new 10 speed cassette.

They belong to a friend of mine who has this wheel buying issue, like he can't stop buying new ones. He's had these less than a month. They are built by a reputable local builder. And after returning from the Denver Veloswap, he needs to get rid of a few things.

Any idea of what these might weigh? I was looking for something in the 1400-1500 gram range, (which I doubt these are,) but these should be a bullet proof build and the price seems good.

I weigh 175# and ride for pleasure, not time.

Thanks for your advice.

yeah, they'll be a little north of 1600 grams. a club mate of mine won a cat 3 crit on that very same build with carbon all around him. I suspect those wheels would give you years of pleasure. buy em.

Record front, 32 hole..+/- 125g
Record rear, 32 hole...+/- 255g
DT 1.1 rims;..............+/- 415g each
14/15ga DT spokes.....+/- 382g/64 (if DT Comps)
Nipples.....................+/- 20g/64 (alu); +/- 65g/64 (brass)

So, the wheels will weigh +/- 1635g.

The components are excellent (assuming they haven't been abused), very durable, and with a new 10-s cassette, all for $300, that seems like a very good deal.

It's not a bad deal that's for sure but when I perused the prices on total cycling new record hubs and D.T. 1.1 are a bit over $350. If the cassette included is a record cassette then it would be a good deal.
