Jackie Stewart has just climbed into a restored open wheeler at Goodwood. He's in number 14, I believe.

Never expected to see a couple of Ford Galaxies, an early Barracuda, and a Studebaker Lark featuring in a race at Goodwood.

Quite a battle between the ex-Surtees Lola T-70 spyder, the Hamill, and the GT40 in the big bore sports car race.

Had this live feed on while doing homework yesterday. The historic motorcycle race was nuts. An 89-year-old supercharged monster with almost no suspension and some sort of lever-operated side shift going flat out ....

There were many ‘63 Galaxies racing in British saloon races. Some Falcons and Comets, too.
Caught a race this morning where the pole winner started from pit lane then passed everyone to win. Car was a Lister Jaguar; nice looking machine.

Racer.com had a photo of Sir Jackie wheeling Dan Gurney’s F1 Eagle around the track.

Drivers race pretty aggressively at Goodwood in comparison to American vintage races. Some poor guy rolled an immaculate looking Cortina.

Jackie is cool, one of the best, love him, wish he came back to the airwaves more. But, I would really question the wisdom of allowing a 79 year old man, any 79 year old man, to pilot my incredibly rare and insanely valued vintage race car at some sort of speed. About fifteen years ago, Stirling Moss, in his late seventies, was given a beautiful bird cage Maserati to "race" with other vintage cars. Problem is, he actually raced it, and shunted big time. A real lack of restraint and probably proper reflexes. The car wasn't a total loss, but, imagine having to repair that.

Chris Harris has posted some great video of his races at Goodwood, including a stint in the Lister Jaguar:

Spent some time looking at photos and videos this weekend.
People really get into the vintage aspect of the weekend, with most attendees wearing vintage clothing. The grid girls were wearing short hemline ‘60s dresses.
One chap was seen taking jets out of Weber carbs wearing a white shirt, black tie, and a tweed sports coat.
And the Spitfires (planes, not cars) were pretty amazing.
