So, this trick was stolen...err....borrowed from Bart Wellens and was posted on the WW forum by some cool cross dude over in the mother land. It was then posted on Rouse Artisanles.

Well, I really liked the idea of being able to adjust the cable on a set of Spookys, but I didn't want to use that cheap looking adjuster. Dave Kirk to the rescue! I just got a bag of Dave's barrell adjuster thingies, and it clicked. Now my wife has one sweet brake setup!

I knew you'd tackle that thing. So, does it make barrel adjusters obsolete?

You bet it does. Easily takes up/lets out enough cable to switch from an Open Pro to a Reflex and vice versa.

Piece of cake with a 4.2 mm drill bit and an M5x0.8mm tap. A vice is handy of course.

Very clever indeed.

So how come they're not on my single speed? ;)

But seriouly Mike, save me 4 please. I'm pretty sure I can do the tapping thing here and upgrade my old C'dale and the Zanc.

I just got a big bag of them in the mail from Dave on Thursday. I will have some for you at Plymouth. Do you have the metric tap?

Thanks. I'll see you threre.

I used to race Formula Vees back in the 80's.

Somewhere in that big roller cabinet of tools I'm pretty sure I've got one.

Do you know the thread diameter and pitch?

Just out of curiosity, what keeps the threaded piece from moving over time?
