CeramicSpeed's standard issue OSPW systems are priced from €459 but more recently developed units with titanium, 3D-printed hollow jockey wheels, which will set you back an additional €1,000. Prices for the units with the titanium jockey wheels start at €1,500 and the systems are available for Shimano, SRAM and Campagnolo drivetrains.

The phrase is most often attributed to P.T. Barnum but it was actually uttered by David Hannum according to wikipedia.com
I pretty sure the entire phrase was:
"There's a sucker born every minute and he is our lawful prey."

I think it applies to anything ceramic in the bicycle industry.

Yeah, this would probably be $2 if it wasn't cycling related:

Is it true that a Rapha version with pink pulleys is in the works for 2500 Euros....

I thought this thread was about the new animal cracker box design without the cage.

I saw one of these systems on a bike in Vancouver this weekend - it was bloody ugly. It was on a $15k showbike sitting in a shop, just waiting for a rich sucker to buy it.

Haha; it used to be reasonably commonplace for the typical dirtbag cyclist to have a bike worth more than the car he carried it in. Now your jockey wheel can be more expensive than your car!

First thing I thought about after seeing this was those custom painted Silca pumps.

Totally getting this. I'm sure it will make me faster and it will fit right in with my Bulletproof coffee, paleo/keto diet, magic recovery crystals, and cocktail of supplements.

More seriously... can't you probably buy a 3D printer capable of printing a pretty trick jockey wheel for less than this?

The Pegoretti pumps were actually pretty awesome. I'd have ordered one if I had more money than I knew what to do with.

Then these jockey wheels have a valid point in being too I guess. I mean, no way those pumps should go for that money, they're pumps!

Reminds me of some old pre-world wide web Sheldon Brown internet humor. Super leggero hollow ball bearings, etc. Or even www-era Sheldon Brown. Mono spoke wheels, etc.
