I have brought this up before in the past. My RS came with just one water bottle placement on the downtube. If I wish to add another on the seat tube, which option would you recommend?

Never mind-was thinking of a different thing. USB should work.

This Minoura bracket fits different sizes of seat tubes and holds the cage solid.

King Cage mounts have worked perfectly for me. I put 3M chopper tape around first to protect the paint.

I have one on my ST now too.

The bee's knees of svelte cage clamps, worthy of installation on this Sachs, are those that were sold under the Specialized and Blackburn brands.

They were trimmed down, shaped almost like cable housing clamps, made of stainless, nicely-polished and with properly formed ends where the bolts fit through. They even had a divot that locked into each hole in the cage's bracket. I still find them occasionally from old stock or on old bikes.

FWIW, the Minoura cage bracket and MTB-grade bottle cage Handle a 1-liter "Magnum" bottle securely over rough ground at speed.

Zefal also has sold plastic brackets that I found to work well, available in three clamp sizes (I can't seem to re-size this photo):

You can always be like a tri-guy and mount a couple behind your seat

This.... or just install ribnuts, just measure 4 times and drill once.

Bigger bottles!

These are heavy: widefoot designs (https://www.widefootdesign.com)

On my 1952 E. Christophe, I used an Italian REG cage with it's built-in clamps, and the cage also handles a 32oz Magnum bottle if I don't close the latch (the bottle is slightly fatter than standard).
I did sand off the sharp edges where the bottle slides in, so as not to gouge the bigger bottle.

Shown here with a regular old bottle. Who knew that early-50's French bikes had 76-degree frame angles?(!).

I use the Two Fish mount (https://www.jensonusa.com/Twofish-Quick-Cage-Adapter-Black?pt_source=googleads&pt_medium=cpc&pt_campaign=shopping_us&pt_keyword=&gclid=Cj0KCQjw77TbBRDtARIsAC4l83lgi_MzRPMsK-TYonr2LaGB9Zy5TmLu3lBWAkkMDrn52ybgRXH_DLgaAr4QEALw _wcB) with zip ties instead of the included velcro strap. Solid. Easily removed and installed. Takes seconds. Pictured below is the version with the included cage. I replaced it with the adapter so I can use other cages.

I like the Minoura BH-60 which mounts on the handlebars and takes any cage....though it looks like you have a GPS mount there so that probably won't work.

Wrap a old tube around the ST. Electrical tape the cage on. Works well. Looks botched. But works.

King cage usb

Or go to an auto store and pay half price for the same clamps.

Was going to recommend the handlebar mount, too. Used to have one on a bike with a single downtube braze-on mount to double up. Worked well.

If you needed a second water bottle, Richard would have provided the appropriate mounting points.

:)

But seriously...don't do anything permanent to the frame... I wouldn't drill it...

When I need to carry extra fluids I use one of these. It's not the most elegant looking solution, but does the trick.

I have the Elite VIP cage straps on a frame for a few years now, no issues.
