I'd still ride even if I lose one of my leg.
Would you?

I've seen this guy riding in NYC a couple of times. I saw him this past summer, heading west on 42nd St., towing an empty two-wheeled hand truck behind his bike, lashed to his seat post.

I would.
Wait. I am a one leg rider. Result of an all expense paid vacation to Viet Nam in 1969. But I use a prosthetic leg. No big deal. You just have to want it enough.
BTW. Jim Penseyers (Brother of RAMM record holder Pete) also lost a leg in Viet Nam. He has finished RAMM 4 times and I think never came in lower than 1oth place. Also kicks my butt.

There's a guy who trains a lot in "inner" London's cycling mecca, Richmond Park, who has a prosthetic leg which (sorry atmo and others who would prefer steel) looks like a ti/carbon fibre mix. Hard man, refuses to ride in a group - if he gets overtaken he sits 10-15 feet behind and then attacks up the hills.

I've also done a 2 day, 3 stage (2 road race stages and a TTT) race in Wales where there was a guy with one arm. He rode with a camelback and hooned down hills towards tight corners at speeds that I (holding on for dear life and braking with both hands) considered to be above optimum. I was more scared than impressed - but I was very impressed.

Seems I remember reading a piece in the NYT some months ago about this messenger. I don't remember the piece painting a picture of an upbeat, positive and inspirational guy, which he most certainly is. Anyone else remember the piece?

I saw members of the French Paralympic Team climb Alpe d'Huez in 2003. Incredible and inspirational. And they were really hammering it, too.

There was a long article on Dexter Benjamin in one of the cycling mags a few years ago. He really seems like an amazing person.

Is this a recent video?

I think I need a lighter bike.

Seriously.
