Thats the main difference between many football players and cyclists.

Considering how bad the crash looked at first I was expecting much, much worse.

Craddock and Benoot looked like they escaped Dunkirk after their crashes:

And here I thought I was tough for riding home a measly 8 miles this winter with a seperated AC Joint in my shoulder, bruised lung, and jacked thumb. I'm a pansy!

Holy crap. Chuck Norris would have quit after 59km.

No, C. Norris would have quit after Moscon punched him in the first 10km...

I hope that Gilbert recovers fully and is back at it soon!

Pro cyclists are a tough lot, often determined to keep going if at alll capable. They don’t lay around acting hurt like wussy socket players.

But it depends. There are some players who are very strong :) Generalization is always inaccurate. But I know, I started it...:)

I mean, it makes for an amusing joke and all but if there was an incentive in cycling to flop like there is in soccer, then cyclists would also be flopping.

I actually have experience with a broken kneecap during a ride. Went to stand up and felt an amazing amount of pain when I tried to straighten up. Couldn't get to the hospital fast enough. I can't imagine getting back on and trying to ride. The adrenaline went to shock pretty damn quickly for me.
