good routes starting from Lafayette, Indiana?

I'm looking for routes starting in West Lafayette, Indiana....my daughter is starting a Purdue this fall and it'd be nice to have a 20mi and 35mi route as I like to take my bike on such trips. If anyone has suggestions, most appreciated.

traveler's tip: my oldest daughter lives in NWI and when I take my bike (rear hitch mount rack) across the Ohio River in Louisville, the toll cameras' view of the license plate is obscured. ;)

Wabash River Cycle Club is a good resource for routes and rides in the Lafayette area.

I think that distance, you can safely find loops and out and back in any direction. You could follow the Wabash river ea. direction to have some coverage otherwise it's all totally exposed. Bring the sunscreen.

Maybe up to Delphi or down to Attica.

My oldest just graduated from Purdue, but sadly I never made the ride up from Indy or around Lafayette. But, I know a kid that rides for Purdue and can check with him.

Years ago, the League of American Bicyclists did a national rally in West Lafayette. Great event with around 20 routes per day. Cherry Cycles made bikes there.

Awesome! Really loving all these routes! I live in 'Bama so won't be time to really get to know the cycling community there...just maybe visiting every now and then --- good routes to explore and getting some exercise at the same time. :)

To answer your question: Purdue has an excellent Nursing program and something really cool about it is they have 'direct admit.' Most BSN programs require you to apply to the Nursing program during your freshman year...so she may or may not know if she gets in. With direct admit, they even start Nursing classes first semester. I guess when you're a school like Purdue that can be 'choosy' then your Nursing program doesn't have to worry about competitive entry. Anyway, she's really smart and they offered her a nice scholarship...it was a no-brainer decision. :banana:
