I have an early 70s bianchi that is mostly wall art in my house. It is not a period correct restoration but I didn’t put 11 speed on it. I have stripped it down and had the frame powder coated. Off the top of my head I replaced the components with
Campy super record crank set
Campy record derailers not matching years
Campy record shifters
Campy record hubs
Campy bottom bracket and headset
Look stop pads
Quil stem that takes a 31.whatever bar
A set of modern bontrager aluminum bars polished to look vintage
Modern brake levers with old styling. I think they were top
It is the original brake calipers (don’t remember the brand but not campy) i think it started with a m. I polished the name off.
Brooks saddle and bar tape.
Jagwire cables
New decals
Shimano 105 pedals in silver
No name seat post
I have the original bars and stem to go with it
Conti Grand Prix classic tires
Not matching but campy skewers
Sunlight cassette? It’s not a cassette but I cannot remember what you call it
And a chrome chain both very low miles

Some of the components I have stripped the ano and polished. It is a nice bike but I am not riding it enough and would consider parting with it. I didn’t think that the repaint helped but it was in very poor condition before. No amount of polish would help it.

It is mid level Columbus tubing. There is no riffing in the frame

It is definitely a free wheel and yes to the modolo calipers

The owner of my lbs who is older was the one who said early 70s. I don’t know if it was the frame or the components that came off. It came with ofmega stuff that I still have most of.

You can probably net more parting it out.

The frame looks like it has Columbus SL sticker which can be confirmed by feeling for rifling inside the fork steerer. SL will not have rifling in the down tube/ seat tube. The rack eyelets on the fork lead me to think that it might not actually be SL though.

I agree with above that part out would net you more money. If you live in a college town though, you might be able to get a little more from an incoming student, but otherwise I think $300 ish.

Nuovo Record RD - $40 , the FD is low end, not worth more than $15-20
Frame/fork/headset - $150

I'd try for around $350-450 if I were selling it. It's a cool bike but the odd mixture of components brings the value down, imo. Personally I'd just ride the heck out of it, I bet it rides really nice.

Powder coat does hurt the value for those of us that really care but a guy looking for a Celeste Bianchi may overlook that. Take the Brooks saddle off and replace with a $10 LBS take off, sell complete for $350 and saddle for FMV. My 2¢.

Fork crown and dropouts with braze-ons? You're onto something. I remember engraving on the crown and campy dropouts

I was thinking that it was a mid to late 80s Bianchi built in Taiwan, but not a Reporto Corse. The ones I remember were black with red logos, celeste was for racing. There was some Offmega and modolo parts. Sport geometry with some vintage kit. Nice bike and probably rides better than the old stuff. More value in parting it out unfortunately

It’s 100% a bianchi, it used to be pearl white but I had it coated green. It was listed as a campions mondo. It rides really nice but doesn’t get used that often. I live just outside DC but for 3-400 I will just keep it. Maybe I will leave it in my parents garage for when I visit. Thanks for the input!
