I have about 3 inches total from the top of the stoker seat tube to the top of my wife's saddle position. Are there any bump-soaking seatposts that could work in that amount of space (or have some of the mechanism inside the seat tube)? It's a 26.8mm ID seat tube, FWIW.
Thanks!

Is that 3" dimension correct? Even for a standard seatpost, the height from the bottom of the saddle rail clamp to the top of the saddle is about 3", which means essentially zero exposed seat post. There would really be no space left for any kind of deflection, regardless of the suspension design. Did you mean that there is only 3" of exposed seat post shaft?

The shortest suspension seatpost I know of is the Specialized CG-R (https://www.specialized.com/us/en/cg-r-carbon-seatpost/p/130709), but unfortunately it appears to be available in 27.2 mm only:

If there really is no exposed seat post, then maybe the only option is to find a saddle with suspended rails, such as this Brooks model:

Bad estimate, from visual memory! Actual top of seat tube to top of saddle is 4”.

Thanks Steve!
Right now I have her on a Koobi, which also has shock absorbers.
