However, this isn’t simply a story of a showy gold bike destined as a living-room talking piece, even though its owner has three dozen other beautiful Italian steeds with only this one earning a place within the house instead of the garage.

No, the real story here is that this bike-turned-artwork was actually put together with a bunch of truly trashed components. Restored, brought back to better than new, and turned into something even more timeless. More importantly, with a swap of the wheels, it can be ridden. Certainly this 2016 Colnago Arabesque is one of a kind, built for a purveyor of Colnagos, and yet another stunning example of the work Chris Howard of CycloRetro is capable of.Gold plated cassette and rims!

This is what Liberace would have rode if he would have actually done something as un-fabulous as riding a bike.

Everyone knows gold improves vertical compliance and aero-ness. Duh.

You think so?

Those tubes have a pretty low outside diameter-to-wall thickness-to-internal-volume ratio.

Not that much room to store "product".
.

Do you know Colombia now has hyppos? Escobar was crazy about them and ordered some from Africa.

Wow... it´s ugly and cool. Just out of a dream or fairy tale.

I think it's really cool as art based on a bicycle. As a bike for actually riding . . . I think that's entirely different. People spend an awful lot more at things to stare at in their homes, so it's not as crazy if you think it it that way.
