Anyone know if you can get Oakley prescription tinted lenses discounted anywhere? My local glass place wanted $400+ for just the lenses. Add in the frames and close to $600...

Oakley has a first responder and military discount program with pretty deep discounts.

It includes non-rx as well as rx eye wear along with other items.

Other than those ^^^ kind of deals, I have never seen Oakleys discounted for Rx.

Side note, but the price of prescription Oakleys is why I went back to contact lenses after a long hiatus. Even the lenses made by 3rd party manufacturers like Revant are still pretty expensive - not $600 expensive, but still a fair bit after buying new frames. I just checked Revant's site, and prescription lenses for Flak 2.0s are $150 for their base unpolarized lenses, $230 for their upmarket lenses or so, then add $50 for polarized if desired. I mean, definitely not $400 for just lenses, but still expensive.

I've been hearing some decent things about Revant these days. If you buy prescription lenses, they want you to send your frames in to make sure they fit. With the non-prescription lenses, lens fit is one of the consistent complaints.

Still a big fan of Sports Optical in Denver but they are not cheap either.

Check out their site to see if they are more budget “friendly” for what you want.

AFAIK, the prescription Oakley lenses are actually made by Oakley and ship from Orange County. The prices at Sports Optical in Denver and Sport RX in San Diego are probably the same except for any taxes and shipping.

I took off the temples (ear pieces) from an older set of eye glasses and was able to slide them in place on the extended nose pads on a set of Rock Brothers (https://www.ebay.com/itm/RockBros-Polarized-Cycling-Glasses-Running-Fishing-Sunglasses-Casual-White-UV400-/122901324564?_trksid=p2349526.m4383.l4275.c10#viTa bs_0) that held them in place. I use them all the time and cost me $14 for the sun glasses on Ebay, the glasses come with 4 sets of lenses in varied shades including polaroid. Sunglasses have to be the most marked up expensive piece of a cycling kit. BTW I liked them enough I purchased another set of the sun glasses in white and ordered an set of basic rx half frame eye glasses in my script for $29 from Zenni (https://www.zennioptical.com/p/metal-alloy-stainless-steel-half-rim-frame/4618?skuId=461821) that I'll fit into the new sun glasses.

Well done! All of this is why I'm a complete Fred and still wear aviators, contrary to the rules.

I buy my Oakleys when they go on sale somewhere -- Backcountry, BikeTiresDirect, etc. -- and then ship them off to FramesDirect to put in prescription lenses. Less than $200, if I remember correctly. Not Oakley lenses, of course, but I can't tell a difference. Costco will also do that for some Oakleys as long as the curve isn't too great.

Cornfed brought up a good point with the curve of particular models. I have a fairly low power RX and am able to use every Oakley and Smith for that matter frame that they do RX lenses for. My son needs a substantially stronger RX which limits his choices to frames with much less wrap. I have a few pairs of FlakJackets but he's pretty much limited to Frogskins etc. Just something to keep in mind.

I'm not sure if they do the model you have, but I got replacement lenses from Fuse a few years ago and was very impressed. https://www.fuse-rx.com/
Customer service was great, too. Give them a call and see if they have advice.
