View Full Version : Cycling caps *with* sweat bands?

Who most commonly makes cycling caps with the built in sweat band (like you'd find in a baseball cap?)

I've got a Walz cap and while I wear it all the time, the sweat just flows down the brim and I end up giving the guy behind me a shower -- which is pretty nasty -- and I'd prefer not to be that guy...

Pace caps have a thick elastic band all the way around the inside perimeter. Too thick for my taste, I think.

Headsweats cycling caps have built-in sweat bands: http://www.headsweats.com/cycle-cap-worlds/

I like the products from Rothera and for Summer, their mesh cap, which they refer to as the Black and Tan. Their caps have a 1” sweatband all the way around the cap, so it works when you have the cap on backwards as well.

Halo has that rubber band to redirect sweat away from the eyes.

Second the Pace recommendation-- all my favorite caps are pace because they have the big internal sweatband.

I tried hats under the helmet but didn't like the fit so I went with a bandana. Been using them for years.

Very interesting since I usually don't have this problem but it's been super hot and humid here and looks like the summer will continue as it began so I've been wishing for something like this. However are there any with multiple sizes so I can order a large to fit my massive melon? Almost all cycling caps, Walz an honourable exception, are very ambitiously "one size fits all", which is fine unless you're a big dude of Dutch descent with, presumably, an enormous brain. I might just go for the Halo bandanna since that's adjustable.

Just picked up a Castelli hat at the MEC that is made of a synthetic mesh with a small bill and a band that should limit sweat running into my eyes. The hat is a one-size fits all. I was skeptical but it fit my large head just fine. I will test it out on my ride tomorrow.

My Adidas Evil Eye half rim glasses have a foam strand that you can clip in to route sweat away from your eyes. It works really well.

On sale if you're on the fence. I really like the mesh piece for Summer riding when the threat of rain is real. Visor to the back when no rain...visor to the front when it's raining...the visor isn't too long either.
