Calling Serotta Guru

Looking at an Ottrott and I haven't seen this dropout with the bolt just on the inside. Is this an Ottrott can anyone tell me about it?

I’ve had three Ottrotts and that’s not the way any attached at the back. Looks to be a repainted frame...just speculating but I’d guess it’s lower end Serotta that was upgraded with wrong stickers when painted! Just a guess based on my limited knowledge....

I think the Fierte’s attached same way if they were mixed carbon/ti version.

HG in serial number = HSG IT model. I just shipped one; it looked just like that one (minus the paint and decals).

From the serial number, that is definitely an HSG, and not an Ottrott I would note that the “level,” certain Ottrotts had fixed bolts and not ST bearings. For example, the SG versions had fixed bolt, but they didn’t look like the one in the OP, they had a proprietary bolt similar to the one used in the MeiVici. The bolt for the ST bearing has a conical shape.

Not an Ottrott -- inquired about the same one on eBay. I believe it's actually an HSG IT made somewhere around 2007 with a different carbon weave than the Ottrott. One thing to note though is that it's got stock geometry which could be advantageous. It's in this catalogue on page 13: https://forums.thepaceline.net/showthread.php?t=83122

Kind of shady that he didn't update and change it then. When I told him to update the listing that it is not an Ottrott he just changed it to painted Serotta.

Staying away from this one. Paint job usually hides issues.

I agree with the others who have pointed out that the photos show an HSG IT that has been repainted by a non-Serotta painter. It's almost a shame, really, that someone decided to mask it as an Ottrot, as the painted tubes scheme, minus the model fudgery, does look nicer than the stock finish, imo. The original clear paint on these models and the treatment of the cable guides are likely to present a cosmetic condition requiring refinishing by now, but to try to make it a model that is wasn't is a foolish mistake.
On the upside, the new paint itself may possibly hold up to abuse better than the original finish, and it isn't as if the original finish makes the HSG IT any more "collectible."
Presented as it is, with a non-original fork, non-original paint with no explanation, and a dishonest model name, there are some red flags present in that offering.
