is this normal? headset question

just got my c60 built from the shop. looking it over. I noticed what looks like a very 1-2 mm gap between the top of the fork and the frame. I have never used this headset system before. is this normal? it feels solid but don’t want to ride it if I could potentially mess up the frame/fork or set myself up to crash. thx

My C59 has a very similar space between the fork and frame. There is a black seal of some sort occupying the space on my bike. Looks the same on yours?

Yeah, normal. Although it looks like yours has a crown race on the fork, probably split, so it’s one of the earlier ones most likely. They went to just the molded crown race on the fork very early on. Have you had the fork out of the frame just to check?
Regardless, that gap looks fine.

Don't have a c60 but yeah with that kind of headset totally normal. Its not pretty but its fine.
