View Full Version : Horizontal saddle extender...is there such a thing?

I want to slide my saddle further back on my commuter bike than the rails allow. I already have a setback post. Is there such a thing that serves to extend the rails, so the saddle can slide back further? I’m picturing Dimension or Problem Solvers having something.... Or a safe MacGyver trick? Weight is not a concern. I imagine there might be seatposts with a crazy amount of setback(?). Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

What is the setback measurement on your current seatpost? Some are as little as 12-15mm or as much as 30mm. Velo Orange is probably the easiest to come by with that 30mm setback.

Thanks to both suggestions so far. I have about 20 mm. I was hoping for another inch, so 45+ mm. VeloInk orange is good thought, I’ll think about if 30 mm is enough. The other one seems very interesting, I’ll research it.

David, of course you know that there's only one correct and permanent solution to this issue. (although it will cost you more than a just a seatpost)

It’s not a black and white situation, long story short. Getting a new bike isn’t a solution since this bike comes in one size.

Another thread concludes that a slammed FIZIK can gain you as much as 35mm of setback.

Or....use your current seatpost on a properly sized frame.

As I wrote above, this bike only comes in one frame size.

And that one size doesn’t fit you. What bike is it?

You guys are getting off topic [emoji6] The bike fits great as is, this just has to do with the use of a child seat, where me getting an extra inch of horizontal space is needed
